New dimension for my favorite stamp!

This card was made for the Ippity challenge on Splitcoast Stampers. This weeks challenge was to use no sentiments on your card. A bit of a challenge indeed, but I pulled through! I had seen a punch that makes a similar design where the flower petals are only punched halfway. So this gave me the idea to try it with this Ippity stamp from the Now and Always set, my fav! I stamped it onto the cardstock, made a mask, then stamped the other flower, made a mask, then stamped the leaves. I used my craftknife to cut around each petal, making sure not to go all the way down it. This took some time to do, but I love how it came out. You can see what it looks like on the inside of the card. Before cutting, I colored in the flowers and leaves with my watercolor pencils. Hope this inspires some of you to give this a try! Thank you for looking in!

New challenge blog!

I have come across a great blog called All Things Unity and it's of course a blog for lovers of Unity stamps! So how could I refuse?! The 2 week challenge has us doing a sketch card, and I made mine with this Charming Coneflowers stamp. I colored them in with my watercolor pencils. I'm starting to get the feel of how much to color in so I can get the shading right. They really are wonderful to use, and like them better than markers. Check the link above to enter if you'd like! Thanks for looking in!!

Unity Stamps! Gotta love em!

This card is for a challenge at the My Unity Place forum. Anyone can join, and it's all about Unity Stamps, which I love, so it's all good! This 2 week challenge has us decorating the inside of our cards too. Which I admit, mine are usually blank, with just handwriting in. So to have something on the inside worth looking at is good! I think I should do this all the time! Thank you for looking in, and have a Blessed Easter!

Papers: Lily Bee, DCWV

Grungy Monday 04

Fun techniques this week over at Linda's StudioL3 blog. We are using embossing folders and distress inks. You can find this technique with a video at Tim's blog, and look up his 12 tags of Christmas 2010. I did another page for my mini grungy album. The bird is a die cut from a Creative Memories Cricut cartridge that I won at my Amish scrapbook overnight! Yay!! Well I had to emboss it too, and love how it looks! There are already lots to see, so go check out Linda's blog! Thanks for stopping in!
Creation List:
Distress Inks: Broken China, Wild Honey, Forest Green
Embossing Folders: Darcie, Cuttlebug
Sizzix album page die
Stamps: Ippity Music of My Heart
Accessories: ribbon, foam squares

Spring Hat Box

The May Arts Ribbon blog had a Design Team call, and this is what I made for it. I didn't make the team however, but wanted to share my entry anyway! These are paper mache hat boxes that I covered with paper, and May Arts ribbons. I sewed two ribbons together for the trim, and the flowers. I think they both came out so pretty, so at least I have some cute storage now!! I even painted some wooden wheels, and glued them to the bottom for legs, and a handle at the top. Thanks for stopping by today!

A New Craft Medium-and a Budding Artist!

Hello all! On my last shopping adventure, I picked up a pack of cork sheets(6) for only 57 cents!! Wow! These are a bit thinner than some cork, but I wanted to see how they would die cut. And it works great through my BigKick! I had to be careful with the thinner pieces, as it will tear. But I love the look the cork gives in a project! This card is for the Ippity Challenge on Splitcoast Stampers. I'm off this weekend for our annual Scrapbbok overnight in Berlin.......Ohio! Great quaint Amish country! Will see you all Monday!

I had to share my almost 5 year old son's collage work! He tells us "I craft now"! He's always coming into my room asking me for things to glue down to his 'craft'. So I gave him all these things, and thought that would supply him for a few projects, but he put them all on this 5x7 page! He even told me the gold wings on the owl are 'fairy wings' how cute! I did not help him at all with this, and I think it's totally awesome! He hung it up in our kitchen for eveyone to see! So that's my little budding Artist! Love it!

Tri-Shutter Card

Here is my first attempt at a shutter card. I've seen them all over blogland, and decided today to find a tutorial on how to make them. Was I surprised at how easy they are! Silly me thought there would be lots of steps to do, but really there isn't! It's a 5 1/2 inch x 12 inch piece of cardstock, scored at 2", 4" 8", 10" on the short edge. Cut the long edge 1 1/2" from the edge in between both 2 " score marks. Once you crease everything, you will see where to fold the inside pieces backwards. It took a lot longer to decorate than cutting and scoring! I'm trying to get some face time through Echo Park Paper, so everything I used comes from there Springtime Collection. No stamping, embossing, distressing, just out of the pack, and onto the paper! I like that once in awhile, plus these colors are just happy! Thanks for looking in today!

ATC Swap!

Got my ATC's from Lori's swap! Check her blog post here to see all the ATC's everyone submitted! I got cards from Wanda, Electra, and Rhonda! You all did a great job! I'll be sure to put them in a special place in my room, so I can always see them! Thanks Lori for hosting the swap!

Grungy Monday #2

Here's my take for this week's challenge at Linda's Studio L3 blog! It's all about Tim's techniques, and this week we're doing more resist. Check his demo video here. I had to improvise a bit with mine, but the resist looks good! I decided to make a mini book and put all the challenges on these pages, unless I make tags. The letter G is of course for 'Grunge'! I'm also going to try and put a materials list at the end of each post from now on, so they aren't as long. I have a busy day today, so best be off! Thanks for stopping in!
Materials list:
Sizzix album page die
Sizzix flower die(for resist)
Multi Medium(white glue is what I used!)
chipboard letter G
Distress Inks: Broken China, Wild Honey, Concord Grape
Basic Grey Manilla Stack
Inkadinkado Butterfly Stamp
Eggplant Adirondack Ink
Sentiment from Unity Stamp Co.
Brads, Stickles, Glossy Accents
