Christmas in July

I made this card the same day I made the one I shared on Monday. This time I went with a Christmas theme. It uses the same stamp set, Lovely as a Tree.

I started in the center again with Daffodil Delight, then the rest is blended with Cherry Cobbler. The lone pine is inked with Garden Green and the sentiment is stamped in black. This is from a retired set, but I still love the pretty script.

I added some Gold bakers twine to the side, and attached the panel to a Garden Green card base.

Thank you for visiting!!

I wanted to try a night time scene using inks, and this is what I came up with. I started in the center using Crushed Curry and a little Pumpkin Pie inks. Once blended(using sponges), I then used Pool Party and Not Quite Navy for the blues.

I stamped the trees three times in black Memento ink from the Lovely as a Tree stamp set. I originally was going to reverse stamp this, and make the reflection at the bottom, but thought it looked good just like this.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by!!

Cute Elephant

My cutesy, and whimsical card today was inspired by the theme at Try It On Tuesday. Hot and wild, use hot colors and/or wild animals. Well, I don't have ANYTHING like what the DT shared, and my style is quite different, but I wanted to join in anyway :)

I do have this cute Sizzix Elephant die. He comes from the hot climate, and is definitely wild in Africa!! :) So that's what I used, along with stamping with 'hot' colors. Stampin' Up! brights collection anyway!!

I created the sentiment with the roller stamp. I've always heard the saying that an elephant with it's trunk up is good luck, so that's where my sentiment came from!

Thanks so much for stopping by for a look, and check out some of the other entries, really awesome! :)

Cute Bunny Birthday

I wanted to use this cute bunny image from a Mama Elephant stamp set. They are so adorable on their own, but I wanted to use the fun Cherry On Top paper stack to make this bunny covered with little hearts!

I love and miss paper piecing. Although this image is all the same paper, I did stamp it's head again and pop it up to give some dimension. The balloons are just punched ovals from Glimmer paper that I colored with alcohol markers, then drew on some strings.

The grass is from the same paper stack, and I stamped the greeting onto it from the Cottage Greetings set. A cute and simple birthday card, keeping focus on the cute image and fun balloons!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Journal Page Using Die Cuts

I was organizing my dies yesterday, putting them in plastic sleeves to fit into the holders I made. Anyway, I realized that many of these dies have not been used for a long, long time. So today, I decided to make a journal page using only die cuts. No stamps, and no punches.

I went through and selected the dies I wanted to use. Some are thick dies, and others are thin. I even broke out my Sizzix Sidekick. That machine used to get quite the workout.

To flashback in time, when I first started paper crafting, I only had foam stamps that I used acrylic paint on, and my dies. A lot of my creations used dies. I do still have 10 alphabet die sets!! And over the years I pretty much switched over to stamps and paper punches. But while I was making this page, I realized that I missed rolling those dies through the machines!!

Now onto my page! I arranged the die cuts where I wanted them, then thought what to do for the background. Since I didn't want any stamping, I went with heat embossing. I used versamark ink, and dabbed the page and used blue and green embossing powder. I think it came out great!!

Then I just glued down all my pieces. Even the tiny, tiny letters that spell out summer. Those are 1/4" die cut letters!! I hope they actually stay stuck to the page, as they were wanting to stick to my fingers instead :)

Thank you for having a look at my die cut page! I think I will have to play with more of my dies now!

Punch Art

It's been awhile since I did some punch art, so I created this fun Girl. I'll list the punches I used at the bottom.

The stamped face is from my Peachy Keen set. They have the funnest face images! Her dress is Perfect Plum, and Melon Mambo, and matching shoes as well! Her hair is Hello Honey, body Very Vanilla that I sponged with Blushing Bride. She has candy dot earrings, and a white Deco Label die cut behind her. She blended in a bit to the designer paper, so that made her stand out.

The sentiment is from a Sale-A-Bration set, and thought it was cute with her. A matching pink card base finished this perfect Girly card.

Thank you for having a look, and here are the punches I used:

Hair- 1 3/4" Scalloped Circle
Head- 1 1/4" Circle
Headband- 1 1/4" Circle(double punched)
Dress- Tree
Collar- 7/8" Scalloped Circle
Arms- Small Oval(double punched
Legs- Word Window
Shoes- Word Window(double punched)

Framed Window

I finally got a theme I could work with for Try It On Tuesday challenge blog! Yvonne had prompted me awhile ago to join in, so I have made a card using their In the Frame theme.

I made the window frame with just one square framelit. I started with a larger piece of card, then kept die cutting over and over until I had a frame shape. Then I trimmed the sides down to fit my card.

I lightly penciled where my frame would sit, then filled the card base with punched flowers. Once satisfied, I attached the frame with foam dimensionals, and added some tiny pearls to the flowers.

I stamped the sentiment from the Cottage Greetings set, then layered it into a banner shape. I kept the rest of the card plain and simple to keep focus on the frame.

Thank you for having a look, and for TIOT's challenge! :)

Favorite Place To Be

I have played along with a sketch challenge at Splitcoast Stampers. Haven't played along with them for some time, so here is what I've made.

I used an image from the For The Birds stamp set, and colored it in using the blender pen and various inks. The background was water colored using the aqua pen and inks.

A little random stamping on the card base from the Cottage Greetings set, and a small banner strip of designer paper. I trimmed the main panel a bit too short on the one side, so I added some twine to the other side to make it look more balanced :)

Designer Paper Focal Point

A CAS card showing off the pretty English Garden papers. Instead of using a larger piece of the pretty papers, I fussy cut out one of the flowers and two leaves to make that the focal point of this card. Lots of the papers in this stack can be used this way, and I do believe I'll make some more!

The sentiment comes from the One Big Meaning set, and I curled it up a bit before attaching. The background is embossed with the mosaic folder, then put onto a Crisp Cantelope card base.

I'm entering this to the CAS on Sunday challenge, which is to use embossing on your card.

Thank you for having a look!

A Special Gift

A few days ago, I got a surprise package in the mail from my blogging friend Yvonne. One of the gifts she sent was this adorable stamp set from Crafter's Companion. Of course I had to ink them up!

I stamped the images onto Stampin' Up!'s thick whisper white card stock, then colored them in with various inks using the blender pen. Once dry, I fussy cut them all out.

The background is embossed with the brick wall embossing folder, and I used a white gel pen to add detail to the mortar. Then went over it with a sponge and crumb cake ink. Then I glued the images down and added the sentiment.

Another Thank You to Yvonne for the gifts! I adore them!

DIY Stencil Paste

Hi there! Today I have a video sharing how to make your own stencil paste. I've seen tutorials before using baby powder and white glue, but those are two things I didn't have. So I've come up with my own formula that works wonderfully!!
